Sensory Fun Drop In

Ages 3-7 can drop in for some fun sensory activities from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm! We’ll be exploring and learning at several STEM stations in the castle during this time.

We’ll have several stations where we’ll get messy, so don’t dress up for this program! Siblings are always welcome and younger children may need adult supervision.

If not attending this program with your child, please remain in the children’s room for the duration of their stay at the program.

No registration is required for this program.

Drop In Instrument Petting Zoo

Let's Play Music & Make Art of Manchester & Derry is bringing their Instrument Petting Zoo to the Bedford Public Library on Wednesday, December 18 at 10AM!

This is a great opportunity for little ones to get up close and hands-on with a variety of instruments including violins, hand drums, ukulele, guitars and more.

These hands-on learning experiences are a great way to foster music appreciation and literacy in your child and set the stage for more in-depth learning to come!

Kamishibai Read Aloud for Ages 5-9

Come join us for a special kind of Story Time - Kamishibai!! It is pronounced Ka-me-she-by and means “Paper Theater.”

Popular in Japan in the early 1900’s as a means of entertainment and commerce, Kamishibai employs  the use of a small theater, large illustrated cards, and theatrical voice.

The teller of the stories would arrive on bicycle and clap his wooden clappers to alert the children in the village to come for a story! The teller would then sell sweet treats to his audience as a way of earning his living.
