A BioBlitz is a species scavenger hunt where volunteers help find and record data on as many different species as possible in a certain area and a short amount of time. It's a fun, easy way to get outside and explore nature!
In September 2021, we are working with the Bedford Conservation Commission to support the NH BioBlitz Project. NH Cooperative Extension is sponsoring a statewide BioBlitz to get community members outside exploring the species found on town-owned lands all over New Hampshire. You can read more about the BioBlitz Project on the NH Cooperative Extension website.
We will meet at the Heritage Trail. Parking is available on Commerce Park Road. Directions to the Heritage Trail.
Find maps for town-owned lands here.
We will be using the iNaturalist app to gather data. We encourage you to download it and sign in to the NHBioBlitz Program before our September outing. Here is a guide to iNaturalist. You don't have to wait to try the app - start collecting observations in your own backyard!
