Are You Ready for Summer Crafts?

Are you ready to craft this summer? We'll be offering take and make crafts starting next week on June 14! Each craft will be indivdually packaged for you to take home and complete. Instructions will be included with the craft and a video demonstation will be available on our Youtube page. We'll offer a different craft every week through Summer Reading until July 30. Please be sure to take one craft per child. Feel free to ask for crafts when you pick up your books curbside! Happy Crafting!

A Summer of Tails and Tales Begins with Virtual Wildlife Encounters!

Next week is the first week of summer reading and we are looking forward to meeting some real live Tails and Tales ambassadors with Wildlife Encounters! There will be 2 virtual shows - one on Monday and one on Thursday - with opportunities to meet live animals with expert handlers. This program will be on Zoom where everyone gets a front row seat and get see the animals up close. Both programs will be the same, so please choose one when registering. The Zoom link will be emailed out one hour before the program begins.

Enjoy our Spring Storywalk!

Spring is back and so is the Storywalk at Bedford Village Common!

Enjoy the nice weather by taking a walk on the Common and reading Bear Wants More by Karma Wilson and Jane Chapman at the same time.

As you stroll through the common, you’ll see pages of the story installed next to the path. Page 1 is right after the arch where you enter the common and the story will take you over the bridge, around the gazebo, and back over the bridge to end back near the arch. All pages are numbered and within sight so you’ll know where to head next.

Coming Soon: Our Teen Collection is getting a new look!

We are very excited to announce that our Teen Collection will soon be getting a new look! We will be renaming it Middle Grade.

The Teen collection has always been meant for the upper end of the age range that we serve here in the Children’s Room, however the name ‘Teen’ can be misleading. The books, audiobooks, and graphic novels in our Teen collection have always been intended for kids ages 9-12. Renaming the collection to Middle Grade helps clarify the intended audience for these materials.

Let us answer some questions you might have about the renaming!
