It’s that time of year! Now through November 30 voting is now open for the Ladybug Book Award! Kids up to 3rd grade can vote on their favorite picture books from this year’s nominees. Our display of nominees is located just outside the Children’s Room and our Ladybug ballot box is located by the Children’s Room desk. Stop by to see which books are on the list and to cast your vote for your favorite!

Join us for a spooky poetry contest! Write a poem using spooky words and bring it to the Children's Room desk by Friday October 22. Poems will be displayed from October 22 through November 1. Entries will be separated into two age categories: 5-7 and 8-12. Children's Room staff will choose a winner from each category to be the lucky recipient of a very tasty prize!

This fall we strongly encourage face masks in the library for everyone over 2 years old, regardless of vaccination status. The Library Board of Trustees agreed at their August 20th meeting that face coverings should be strongly encouraged when the spread of Covid-19 is at substantial transmission levels in Hillsborough County as identified by the CDC.
There’s no doubt about it – the Summer Reading Program wouldn’t happen without the support of our community here in Bedford. This year we had several sponsors and donors who helped to make our program a great success.

The Games
It’s been a great few weeks of Tails and Tales Summer Reading and we want to celebrate! All our Summer Reading participants are welcome to come get a free ice cream treat on Thursday July 29 from 11:30-12:30 in the Bedford Village Commons parking lot. You can register for the ice cream truck finale by clicking here.
We will also have free prize books and a coupon for a free kiddie cone at Hayward’s Ice Cream at the library for our participants.
It's that time again - a new Great Stone Face list is here! New Hampshire students in grades 4 through 6 are invited to read books from the list and then vote on their favorite in the spring.
